Democracy it is not the virtue in itself – the virtue is the national identity that the democracy protects

And democracy may protect the evil as the history reports.

The democracy was at work in the Nazi Germany and in the Communist Soviet Union where the democratic elections protected the will of the people whose national identity cherished an all-powerful national leader and a robust public order. Of course, there were dissidents who were fighting for more individual freedoms, but they were in minority.

The free-election democracy is at work now in the modern Germany and the modern Russia, and it works differently after both countries learnt their own lessons of murderous dictatorships and modernized their national identity.

The free-election democracy in the USA nowadays works differently as compared to how it worked at the beginning. At the beginning, our national identity was rooted in the Judeo-Christian national morality with the emphasis on individual freedoms and responsibilities. Nowadays – as the result of massive non-Judeo-Christian immigration of the last half-century – the attempts are made to use the free-election democracy for replacing the national Judeo-Christian morality of individual freedoms with the government-enforced morality of the equality of inherently inequal moral things, morality of the social tolerance to the morally intolerant things, morality of the killing slogans instead of enlightened deliberations.
