What is Right and Wrong inside Religion of Judaism … and Christianity

In this publication, I am describing what my knowledge of the Torah, Jewish tradition and history, and first of all my own life experience, tells me what is right and wrong inside my religion of Judaism, and my feeling is something similar the Christians may find inside their own religion.

  • It is right to consider the Religion of Judaism as a human-made institution created to help the Jews establish direct connections with God to tailor God-guided morality instructions to unique individual life circumstances. It is wrong when Religion of Judaism replaces the direct God’s guidance by dogmatized Rabbis’ guidance with different rabbis fighting each other for the “more kosher guidance.” Unfortunately, the wrong approach is prevailing, and that is one of the reasons for many to stop going to synagogues.
  • It is right when various religious streams of Judaism complement each other in their unique understanding of God’s morality guidance for their unique communities. It is wrong when some of these streams are trying to present their understanding to be the only the truth “from the mouth of God.”
  • It is right to look in the weekly studies of the Torah for guidance to individual weekly life events. It is wrong when the Torah studies become the Jewish history studies.
  • It is right to consider the prayers the way to clarify for yourself what to do personally to make the world around you a better place for everybody. It is wrong to think that your prayers alone make the world a better place.
  • It is right to shape – publicly and without reservations – the government legislative work along the lines of the Torah moral guidance of “individual freedoms and responsibilities.” It wrong to think that the Torah moral guidance justify replacing God as the protector of the people by the government-savior.
  • It is right to treat Christianity as the adaptation of the Torah guidance to the identity traits of Gentiles. It is wrong to treat Christianity as the deviation from the Torah guidance.
  • It is right to treat Religion and Science as equal research entities with Religion researching the God’s Laws of human morality and Science researching the God’s Laws of Nature. It is wrong to treat Religion and Science as rivals.
